For New Transfer Students
Been accepted? Paid your deposit?
Follow these next steps in your goBaylor account to ensure timely advising and registration for classes.
-
Check your transfer courses evaluation.
Are all transfer courses and credit by exam on your record? If you have not yet submitted all your transcripts, check the Equivalent Course Tool (ECT) to compare the courses at the school you are attending to the Baylor courses.
-
Confirm your degree, major, and educational goals are correct.
Need to change your degree and/or major? Contact your Admissions counselor to make any changes.
-
Submit your bacterial meningitis vaccine record.
Your bacterial meningitis record must be received and entered by Baylor Health Services before your advisor can register your schedule. Also, you will not be able to move into your residence hall (if living on campus) or attend classes until you are registered for spring classes.
NOTE: Texas state law requires that all new students under the age of 22 show proof of meningococcal vaccination within the last 5 years and at least 10 days prior to the first day of class.
Bexsero and Trumenba are Meningitis B Vaccines and DO NOT meet the requirements of the State of Texas.
Please scan and upload documentation showing proof of MCV4 vaccination. Your document must include the month, date, and year of the meningitis vaccination and a signature of a physician, other healthcare worker or public health official must be included.
For more information, including how to claim an exemption, visit Baylor Health Services.
How do I find my advisor?
After you deposit and receive a student record at Baylor, your advising contact information will be in Navigate app under the People icon. You can email or text your advisor using the app.
Also, your advisor will find you. Expect an email from your assigned advisor in your Baylor email account giving you instructions about scheduling an advising appointment and registering for classes.
What resources are available to help me prepare for advising?
Course placement may be required or recommended. For some students, English, Chemistry, or Math placement may be required. Your advisor can explain how you may be able to complete the language requirement in fewer semesters if you have not already received credit.
The Baylor Undergraduate Catalog is an invaluable resource which provides detailed information about University policies, degree and major requirements by academic unit, and course descriptions.
How can I make schedule changes?
After you are registered for classes, your academic advisor will let you know the date you are eligible to make changes. After that date, you are eligible to add classes through the 5th class day on BearWeb. If you have questions or need assistance, contact your academic advisor.
